Drawing from his childhood memories when painting, Bob Barker creates nostalgic and magical artworks. Depicting a universal love story in his signature ‘northern impressionism’ style, ‘Take My Hand’ captures a moment in time, an intimate glimpse of a shared experience, perhaps even a lasting memory, for the couple.

A casually dressed couple walking hand-in-hand down an empty street, sheltered from the rain by Barker’s beloved red heart umbrellas. The union between the pair is symbolised by Barker’s touching umbrella motif, which began after he started doodling umbrellas and noticed a heart shape taking form. Whilst the buildings are traditional to the Yorkshire mill towns of Barker’s youth, this romantic scene is timeless.
