Grandview Motel

Released as part of The Beaten Path, Route 66 collection ‘Grand View Motel’ is a hand-signed, limited edition by legendary singer-songwriter and artist, Bob Dylan.

The Beaten Path is Bob Dylan's visual chronicle of American scenery depicting iconic images as he invokes the heartland of the country. Dylan has long drawn inspiration from the American landscape, both in his lyrics and visual art. The Beaten Path, Route 66 offers fleeting glimpses of downbeat motels and road signs – epochal scenery along the legendary ‘Route 66’, also known as ‘The Mother Road’ - and continues to offer a vivid and unfolding portrait of the United States.

Since the early 1960s, when Dylan came to prominence as a singer and songwriter, touring has been a central part of his artistic expression. He is familiar with the country’s highways, city streets and back roads because he has spent his life moving along them. He explains his depiction of the American landscape as ‘how you see it while crisscrossing the land and seeing it for what it’s worth.’

This piece is a Textured Archival Pigment Giclée on Permajet Heritage Etching Rag 310gsm Paper and can also be purchased as part of a framed set or an unframed portfolio of four.
